Project Overview
The research paper is designed to help students develop and apply the skills of a historian by selecting and analyzing a range of source material and managing diverse interpretations of the past. The project requires students to search for, select, evaluate, and use evidence to reach a relevant conclusion. The final draft will be an original piece of student work that fully addresses the implications of a research question in an in-depth and compelling manner.

Project Requirements
- The format of the research paper and the Works Cited page should be consistent with the MLA style
- The final draft should be typed in Times New Roman 12-sized font, be 1-and-½ spaced, and between 900 and 1,500 words in length.
- The final draft should cite a minimum of five sources including:
- A minimum of three standard print sources such as books, journals, and library databases.
- A minimum of two regular web page source, including on-line journals and non-print sources such as images or videos.
- Students are required to electronically submit the final draft of their research paper to Turnitin.com.
- Students are expected to stick to the due dates listed under the Benchmarks below
The Research Paper Project will be graded according to the seven criteria outlined below:
